Grupo Clavijo´s tracking technology presented at the tenth edition of WFES (Abu Dhabi)

Monday January 2nd, 2017

The Spanish company Grupo Clavijo is presenting the most advanced technology in photovoltaic solar trackers on the market at the tenth edition of the World Future Energy Summit 2017 (Hall 7,stand 7340). With its attendance at this event in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Grupo Clavijo is making the latest innovations in the field of trackers available to the photovoltaic solar energy sector in the MENA region. One example of this commitment to technology is being the only manufacturer in the world to offer a spherical bearing. Their trackers include an astronomical clock with the coordinates of the location where they are installed in order to take best advantage of hours of sunlight. They can harness between 18% and 40% more energy than a fixed structure.

After having installed more than 1.2 GW worldwide, Grupo Clavijo`s strategy includes growing its presence on major projects in the MENA region, a geographical area where renewable energy has been growing significantly in recent years and where, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA), it will continue to grow by 78% through 2021, led by the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Morocco. The Spanish company has already completed projects in Jordan and Israel.

WFES, with more than 100 exhibiting companies and an extensive programme of conferences, is one of the main events for the solar energy sector in the MENA region. It will run from 16 to 19 January 2017 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Grupo Clavijo is presenting the most reliable and efficient trackers for the global photovoltaic market at Solar Power International 2016.

Thursday August 18th, 2016

The Spanish company Grupo Clavijo will once again be attending the Solar Power International trade show (from 12 to 15 September) in La Vegas (NV, USA), with the latest generation of its advanced single-axis trackers.

After more than 12 years of work by its entire engineering and R&D team, aimed at developing leading single-axis technology, Grupo Clavijo is now able to offer the global photovoltaic sector the SP160 (single-row) and SP1000 (multi-row) models, whose outstanding features include their optimal reliability (demonstrated in over 16 installations completed), and their reliability/efficiency in adverse weather conditions (from -5ºC to + 50ºC and at altitudes of up to 1000 m), thanks to the circuit board and microprocessor which incorporate advanced wind control software that enables pre-flag positions, thus ensuring the tracker`s structural integrity.

In an effort to continuously improve the performance of its trackers, so that they are increasingly cost effective for developers and EPC contractors, Grupo Clavijo has also developed a new spherical bearing for its single-axis trackers which, in addition to the benefits already found in the previous model (lubrication and maintenance free, UV and ageing resistance and adaptation to complicated terrain), now also includes a faster assembly time.  Our last bearing design is able to absorb the axis alignment variations where the photovoltaic modules are installed, a unique feature in single-row and multi-row solar trackers. The manufacturing quality has recently been acknowledged by the certification it obtained for the execution of steel structures for the structural components that it designs and manufactures, according to UNE-EN 1090-1, with execution class EXC2, certifying the quality of its structural calculations for the sizing of components, its factory production control and the performance of those components.

All of these innovations will be exhibited at stand #2560 in the Las Vegas Convention Center in September.

Grupo Clavijo has production centres in Spain, the USA, Brazil, Chile and South Africa. It has recently opened new offices in Miami and San Francisco (USA), in addition to the ones it already has in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Chile, Brazil and its corporate headquarters in Viana (Navarra, Spain). This global presence allows it to offer a comprehensive service in any country in the world, where its trackers are present with over 1.2 GW installed.

MIREC 2016 (Mexico): the SP 160 tracker and a new key piece which will drastically change assembly ratios, the main new developments for Grupo Clavijo

Monday April 18th, 2016

The Spanish company Grupo Clavijo is attending the latest edition of MIREC Week in Mexico with important new developments. On the one hand, it is presenting its SP 160 single-axis tracker, which, among other benefits, offers versatility for configuring modules in 1V, 2V and 3H and configuring 1000 and 1500 V, minimum maintenance costs and fast installation. Also, it does not require a push bar to gain access between rowsof trackers. An advanced and versatile tracker that perfectly adapts to any type of solar photovoltaic project.

On the other, Grupo Clavijo has developed anew spherical bearing for its single-axis trackers. In addition to the benefits already found in the previous model (no maintenance and easy installation), we can also add a faster assembly time (as it is made up of fewer pieces), the capacity to absorb a working angle greater than 55 degrees with structural systems that reduce the centre of mass and decrease the consumption necessary for movement, and greater resistance to strain.

Grupo Clavijo´s strong commitment to offering its customers the latest technology in single and multi-row tracking and its quality of service allows it to develop major photovoltaic projects, with over 700 MW installed in the LATAM area and over 1.2 GW around the world. It is currently the only manufacturer offering the two main monitoring systems and with the greatest track record in the market for both technologies.
